
Joshua Gawley is a software engineer interested in high performance systems. He holds an MEng in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Bristol.
His recent projects include an AUR helper for Arch Linux, parallelized fluid simulations and a programming language for safe parallel computing. He has also contributed to various open source projects such as Meson, Simdjson, and Typst.
Joshua also enjoys a nascent career as a speaker, having given a lightning talk at the 2025 ACCU conference about the equal importance of technical skills and people skills in software engineering.
Alongside keyboard smashing, Joshua is also an avid composer and singer, having had works performed by the University of Bristol Chamber Choir, the University of Bristol Church Choir, and at the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music.
